Kelpie ~ Scotland
A Kelpie is the most common water spirit in Scottish folklore and is said to haunt the deep pools in rivers and streams, usually in the form of a lost horse. This mythological transforming beast allegedly has the strength and endurance of a hundred horses.

Kelpie looks like a beautiful strong black horse with hooves reversed (A regular horse). In other parts it looks like a mane of serpents and there’s a kelpie of the River Spey its white and can sing. The Kelpie is attractive to children and when it’s back it hides and it becomes sticky. Which traps the kids by dragging them into the water and them and eat them. But, if it goes after adults it’ll take there human form (but they still have hooves) where then it will lure the opposite sex (of what human form they took upon) near a body of water to feast upon them. To avoid Kelpie just don’t go near water!
Black Annis ~ Leicestershire countryside, England
This was supposed to discourage them from misbehaving and possibly forgetting any thoughts they had of running away from home.

The black Annis ( Black Agnes or Black Anna) is a blue faced old witch with powerful sharp iron claws. She likes to prey on small children and on poor defenseless lambs as part of her blood thirsty diet. When she catches her victims and when she’s done with their flesh; she would skin them and tan their hides. She’ll then hang then on the tree as decoration or wear them as a trophy belt. If the Black Annis exposed to the sun she will turn into stone (like medusas victims) that’s why she only comes out at night. (That must suck not going to do anything during the day. Am I right!). She’s like the boogeyman scary and an evil witch to scare the children to discourage misbehaving and running away from home.
