There are the universal myths—myths that crop up repeatedly in cultures separated by hundreds of miles and thousands of years. These myths are so near-universal that their prevalence is downright spooky.

What is a myth?

A myth is a type of belief that is generally established over several generations in relation to certain facts improbable and surprising. A myth may have happened in reality and are not liable to be verified objectively.

The difference between a myth and a legend is that a myth has symbolic language and origins. While a legend is a collection of stories of situations that are mostly likely true to historical but at the same time has a combination of the truth and fiction. Myth are into Gods like the Romans or Greek Gods and legend is generally portrayed by human hero. Legends usually takes places at a particular place and time and myths are often out of time.

What is a legend?

A legend is a narrative, oral or written, in prose or verse, looking more or less historical with greater or lesser proportion of imaginative elements. In the traditional oral literature legends are often mentioned in literature.

Ever wake up and feel a cold chill around you on the hottest day and when you run to switch the lights on, another hand or THING with claws, fried chicken fingers touches your hand too, lights on, nothing there besides you, only to look back and you realize there’s a clown sitting on your rocking chair, rocking that chair faster and faster till it springs up to attack you only to wake up from the nightmare that in your nightmare it appeared to be as though you’ve already woken up from. ~ Brandon Bridglal

  • 10) Bloody Mary: Its game for young foolish people who play in front of a mirror to summon Bloody Mary which is also known to be princess murdered in-front of a mirror. The people who play Bloody Mary are actually mocking her death which causes her to appear in your mirror.
  • 9) Glassy Glassy: Its originates from South Africa, it’s a spirt that happens with the movement of glass which indicates the spirits presense. This is also a game and if at any point during the game the glass moves, falls, or something around you breaks. Your in trouble and there’s an evil spirit there with you and the only way your save is if you bring a religious leader in your community to ward off evil spirts.
  • 8) Highway Sheila: Its originates from South Africa, Sheila looks like a normal women looking for a ride around the midnight hour. “The legend has it that a few decades ago on this highway she was either knocked by a vehicle or murdered by a motorist and by her appearance is said to be revenge for motorists.”
  • 7) Seven Fairies or Seven Sisters: Its originates from South Africa, they come out to play exactly at 12p.m. around a swamps, rivers, or under a tree. Young Indian females were told not leave their hair out, eat meat, or go outside alone near a river or under a tree. It’s because its said to jumped at them and take their form.
  • 6) Resurrection Mary: “Chicago’s most famous ghost!” It’s like Sheila, Mary is also a disappearing hitch-hiker. Her story began in the 1930’s where she first appear like real women with a white dress. She then vanishes into thin air.
  • 5) The Flying Dutchman: In the 17th century, it was an Irish sailor who had been killed in the shipwreck. But, it’s out for revenge out at seas looking for every new sailor or water sporting individual.
  • 4) 666 Beast: It’s a legend that is dangerous because it can take form of a human beings turning their minds to commit grotesque crime.
  • 3) Ghost of Molly Brown: Molly is a survivor of the Titanic who lived to tell her stories. After her death, she comes and pays a “visit to the families residence while hovering around.”
  • 2) Alien Sightings and signs of existence: Crop circles are the main reason for people believing in aliens. The reason for that, is that so no human being can do it over night, even if they a tractor or any agricultural vehicle. There’s a lot of video evidences of sighting of aliens.
  • 1) Tikoloshe (African Demon): Its originates from South Africa, its a man/evil dwarf. But, it’s controversial on how it was created. The reason why its controversial its because witch doctors around the country created their own individuals or groups. To be use to attack children, adults, or animals for the “act of revenge to leverage somebodies offense towards them.” They could only be controlled by their creators and they are very dangerous.
